Appearance

The device received an interesting design, for which you can give the developers a big and bold plus. First, let's get acquainted with the DVR itself. The rotating drum is rigidly fixed, which allows you to get a smooth picture without any twitching. The developers are to be commended for this decision.

Installation

Mounting the device allows you to mount the DVR on almost any place convenient for you: on the front panel, windshield, etc. All thanks to the swivel mechanism and 3M adhesive tape, with which the fasteners are held on any surface. The convenient coupling of the mount and the DVR allows you to quickly detach the Autobot Eye Smart Dashcam and put it in your pocket, it is compact and easy to carry.
Settings
You will not be able to set up a DVR without a mobile device. However, this does not mean that if you do not install a mobile application on your smartphone, Autobot Eye will not work and record video. You can immediately use the recording function, just the recording will be done automatically and at the factory settings. The main changes in the settings are made through a special application Autobot (iOS/Android).

The Autobot app allows you to fully customize your device and more. After the first launch and synchronization of the smartphone with the DVR, the time is set to the one set on your phone. Through the main menu you can make basic settings. By the way, after launching the application, a message appears stating that an Internet connection (3/4G) is required for the application to work correctly.
In the program menu, you can see all the videos, photos recorded on the device. You can also download them to your smartphone using a Wi-Fi wireless connection, the download speed is not as fast as we would like, but still not bad.
The program also has additional settings. For example, rename the name of the DVR, set your password and others. However, your attention should be drawn to the item "Parking photo", what does this mean? When you have parked, the sensor automatically detects that you have stopped and takes a photo of this place, after which it sends it to your smartphone. All this is necessary in order to remember the location where you left your car.
Another interesting feature is Open Hotspot mode. This is necessary so that after connecting via Wi-Fi to the DVR, your smartphone does not lose connection with the mobile Internet connection. An excellent solution, because in normal cases, connecting via Wi-Fi to the DVR, the Internet connection is interrupted.
In addition, the application has the function of monitoring the given position of your car. This function starts when the vehicle is moving, which allows you to receive data on your heading, driving time, speed, etc. In other words, this feature is GPS enabled. From the main menu, you can see the Data tab, which is a kind of fitness tracker for the car (mileage records by day, driving accuracy, average speed, etc.).
The AutoBot app completely transforms your dash cam into a truly multifunctional device that opens up new possibilities for you. Of course, there were some drawbacks, the application sometimes cannot connect to the DVR, what is the reason for this, we still could not understand, sometimes messages pop up that you need to turn on Bluetooth, etc., maybe it depends on the smartphone, OS and other indicators. The second disadvantage is the quality of the translation, but it pleases at least that it is still available.
